1. Avoid sun over exposure
UV rays damages our hair, just as they damage our skin. The best way to avoid this is to keep your natural hair away from direct sunshine. Wear a hat or headscarf when the sun is out and bright to avoid sun damage.
2. Keep your hair moisturised
The summer sun and heat strip moisture away from your hair. Use a moisturiser or leave-in conditioner every day, or try the LOC (liquid, oil, cream) method to keep your hair from drying out throughout the day.
Use lighter formulated products in summer, this will limit product buildup on your scalp will keep you from needing to wash your hair all the time.
